From 1962 to 1968, he built two mountain off-roaders. One of them later ended up in the Austrian Porsche Museum, from where in the early 90’s it was bought by representatives of the VW enthusiast community – Bullikartel.
The first and, alas, unsuccessful attempt to restore the veteran was made in 2005. It took another 13 years before the Half-Track Fox ended up in Classic Vehicle, a division of VW Commercial Vehicles.
After another 4 years, after a thorough restoration and filming in Top Gear in the Austrian Alps, where the updated SUV showed excellent off-road ability, “Half-Track Fox” is presented to the public.
