NASA ‘fired a laser’ at India’s lunar module – it was a science experiment

The team led by Xiaoli San developed a retroreflector for Vikram as part of a partnership program between NASA and ISRO. The device is capable of reflecting light in any direction and requires no power or maintenance, so it could be used to locate the Indian craft for decades to come.
